Dr Ilenia Pampaloni, General Adult Psychiatrist

Medical Qualifications

Dr Ilenia Pampaloni went to medical school at the University of Florence, Italy where she qualified in Medicine and undertook a post-graduate degree in Psychiatry. For two years she had the privilege of working alongside Professor Naomi Fineberg as an Associate Specialist gaining specialist skills in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders at the National NHS Service for Treatment-Resistant Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.

Dr Pampaloni has recently completed training in Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) for Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorders in order to integrate her interest in up-to-date pharmacological treatments with a psychodynamic approach. She is also completing an introductory course in Psycholoanalysis at the British Association of Psychoanalysis.

Medical Experience and Training

Dr Pampaloni has extensive clinical experience in general adult psychiatry both in the UK and Italy. Since 2009, Dr Pampaloni has been a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist at Surrey Health Community Mental Health Recovery Service and for the last two years has provided input into the long-term inpatient setting for patients with chronic psychiatric conditions alongside learning disabilities and complex physical comorbidities.

Dr Pampaloni is also a General Adult Psychiatrist at Cardiac Screen Ltd in London where she specialises in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD) as well as anxiety, bipolar affective disorder, depression and psychosis.

She has co-authored multiple articles and a book chapter on OCD and has studied extensively the neurobiology of these disorders, particularly the most treatment resistant types of OCD.
