Mr Suks Minhas, Consultant Urologist and Andrologist

Medical Qualifications

Mr Suks Minhas qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of  Sheffield in 1989 and went on to receive Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1995. Following this he obtained a Medical Doctorate from the University of Leeds in 2002 on the physiology of the penis and erectile dysfunction. In the same year, he was awarded a specialist fellowship for urology from the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mr Minhas completed higher surgical training which included the Specialist Registrar Yorkshire Training Scheme and training in andrological surgery at the Institute of Urology, London. He was also a Specialist Registrar at Whittington Hospital and a Senior Clinical Fellow in Andrology at The Institute of Urology.

Medical Experience

Mr Minhas has been Chairman of the (Sub-section) International Consultation on Urological Diseases, Editor-in-Chief for the European Society of Sexual Medicine newsletter and website, as well as Chairman of Scientific Sessions at the European Association of Urology and the European and International Society of Sexual Medicine.

He is currently supra-regional chairman for penile cancer services at University College Hospital London and has published numerous scientific papers and chaired both national and international meetings on the subject of andrology.

Mr Minhas is Chairman of the British Association of Urological Surgeons Section of Andrology, a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the British Society of Sexual Medicine, the European Society of Sexual Medicine, the International Society of Sexual Medicine and the British Medical Association.

In 2011 Mr Minhas was awarded the prestigious Karl Storz Telescope award which is given to urologists within their first ten years of consulting, who have made a significant and lasting contribution to British Urology.

He is a Consultant Urologist and Andrologist at the University College of London Hospital where he is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer. He is a Consultant Urologist and Andrologist at London Urology Associates and the Princess Grace Hospital, London where he is avaialble for private patients. He also works closely with The Lister Fertility Clinic and Andrology Solutions.

Mr Minhas specialises in andrological surgery, is one of the only full-time andrological surgeons in the UK and is actively involved in the training of British surgeons. He also has a specialist interest in male infertility including surgical sperm retrieval and sperm freezing, alongside medical and surgical treatments for erectile dysfunction, penile implants, Peyronie's disease, vasectomy reversal, cancer of the penis, testicles and scrotum, and penile, testicular and scrotal surgery including reconstruction.

He is an expert at treating the following: trauma and micro-penis, undescended testis, hydrocele, varicocele, epididymal cysts, lymphoedema of the scrotum and penis, congenital disorders of the scrotum, balanitis xerotica obliterans, and disorders of the suspensory ligament of the penis.
