Treatment of aortic regurgitation
Aortic regurgitation, also known as aortic insufficiency, is a heart condition where the aortic valve is prevented from closing tightly. This leads to blood leaking back through to the left ventricle, causing the heart to work harder to deal with the increased blood flow. Aortic regurgitation symptoms can include chest pain, palpitations, fatigue, fainting and shortness of breath with activity. More severe symptoms of aortic regurgitation can lead to heart failure.
