Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy involves the removal of part of the kidney through keyhole surgery. A partial nephrectomy, or heminephrectomy, may be used to treat kidney injuries or a rupture of the kidney. A laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is becoming more common than the removal of a whole kidney in cases of renal cell carcinoma.
